CIT PROGRAM

What does it mean to be a CIT?

Thank you for your interest in being a C.I.T. during the 2024 camping season at Camp Tarhe.
By submitting your application, you are committing to: 
  • Attend at least one of the work days:
    •  ​June 15th, June 22nd and June 26th
  • Serve during the week(s) you are accepted 
  • Arrive Monday by 10:00 
  • Stay until after all clean up is done on the last day and you are dismissed 
  • Prepare and lead a devotion for your cabin 
  • Being a role model and to serve the campers 
  • Follow all rules, guidelines and responsibilities assigned to you
    • Including, but not limited to: assisting with the daily schedule and planned activities; work in the camp store; assisting with cabin prayer 
    • Follow Camp Staff Dress Code 
  • Come to serve – not as one to be served 
  • Be able to listen, take directions, carry-out responsibilities, etc.
If you are not able or willing to fulfill these requirements, please do not apply for this position. We are looking for people who are able and willing to assume responsibilities and who can be relied upon to do the best they can do. Below you will find the necessary paperwork that will need to be completed and returned to us for consideration as a C.I.T. (Counselor-In-Training) including a C.I.T Application and Pastor Reference Form.

Please do the following ​before ​May 10th 
  1. Complete the C.I.T. Application form (There are 2 different forms; one for a returning CIT and one for a new CIT – please complete the correct form) 
  2. Return it to Tarhe Board of Directors (contact information below) 
  3. Give your pastor a copy of the blank Pastor/Youth Leader Reference Form or link to the website in time for them to do their part and return it to us  before​ ​May 10th 
  4. Follow up with your pastor to make sure that they submitted your by the deadline 
By returning the paperwork, you are stating that you have indeed read the instructions/requirements listed above and that you agree to abide by them if you are chosen​. 
 
Thank you for your interest in the Camp Tarhe Counselor in Training (CIT) Program! Due to the popularity of this program and a typical abundance of applications, we will be selecting 12–15 CITs per week.  

Please know that each application is being carefully reviewed, and selections are currently being made. We will be in contact with you by May 20th, regardless of the decision.
